Itinerary
Zed25 will take place over three days, beginning on the evening of the 3rd of July.
We’ll be returning to St David’s Hotel in Cardiff, home of the original international launch. Originally taking place over 3 weeks, journalists and dealers from across Europe, drove the ZEDs for the first time from the very same hotel we’ll be using in the event.
Working with the team at St David’s, we have, event-exclusive rate for attendees of Zed25, at 45% off the public rate for the weekend. Attendees are also welcome to arrange their own accommodation that meets their own needs. It does not prevent you from joining in on the event.
If you’re thinking of extending your trip, let us know and we’ll help with recommendations of things to do and places to visit on the non-event days.
Friday 3rd July - Evening
We’ll begin our weekend with an intro back to the era. True to the ethos of “full-fat, maximum strength” ZED marketing campaign, we’ll be going back to 2001, with a pub-quiz and competition, including buffet meal and prizes across a number of categories.
Saturday 4th July - Daytime
After breakfast, attendees will be given their event pack: A reproduction of the original pack presented to the press and dealer network. From St David’s, attendees will make the journey to Pembrey Circuit.
In 2001, press, dealers and fleet groups drove each new model around the circuit. Attendees will get the opportunity to take their own cars around the race circuit, as we recreate the line-up shots of the ZED cars.
From there, attendees will be given route options back to Cardiff, including some first-rate driving routes before our evening event. Our hotel is located on Cardiff Bay, with a short walk to a range of shops, restaurants and boat trips around the bay.
Saturday 4th July - Evening
Welcome drinks-on arrival will take you back to July 2001.
Over a three-course meal, you’ll hear from some of the key individuals involved in the development of the ZED cars, as well as the wider MG Rover Group at the time.
Hearing first-hand about the challenges faced and opportunities they had to seize, we hope this will be a fully immersive experience.
Sunday 5th July - Peterstone Court
On Sunday morning, we’ll leave St. David’s Hotel and follow the original route from 2001 to Peterstone Court, nestled in the Brecon Beacons National Park. Used as the location for a coffee stop and car change-over, you’ll experience some first-rate driving roads on the original route.
Sunday’s event will feature a range of model-specific discussions, with former MGR staff, motoring journalists of the era, and prominent members of the contemporary community.
The day will feature a unique and exclusive pride of ownership event. Attendees will be able to have their car photographed, to include in their event commemorative press pack. There will also be all the activities and attractions you’d expect of a car-show.
Tickets for this are available on a per car basis, or per person including lunch.
